The annual Chiang Mai Flower Festival will be held on 3 – 5 February at Suan Buak Hat Park. The Festival is one of the most colourful celebrations in Chiang Mai. The entire city will be decorated with flowers.
The best part of the flower festival is on Saturday. The flower parade moves slow and stops at different times so you can take pictures and have a closer look at all of the colorful floats, pretty girls and hill tribe people that will be in costume. The parade starts a 8:00 am on saturday and starts at the Nawarat Bridge and head west to Tha Phae Gate then go south and follow the moat around until it ends up at Suan Buak Haad City Park. Also the people in the parade hand out roses to spectators lining the road. At the end of the parade, everyone goes to Suan Buak Haad where all the floats, award winning flower growers and landscapers projects are all on display.
During the three day festival, various events are held, such as: Flower exhibitions; Flower contests; the beautiful parade (saturday); Beauty contest to pick Miss Flower Bloom & Miss International Flower Bloom; Food fair; Entertainment and music…
